The work of Glen Rogers ranges from prints, drawings, and paintings to public art. In 2006, her paintings and drawings were featured in a solo show at Gallery A in Puerto Vallarta and in the traveling exhibition, "Presence in Nature" which had its inaugural show at the Rubio Gallery, Angela Peralta Teatro, Mazatlán. In recent years, her work has been featured at the Triton Museum of Art (solo show), the de Saisset Museum of Art, both in Santa Clara, CA., the San Jose Museum of Art, The San Jose Institute of Contemporary Art, WORKS, The Los Gatos Museum of Art, KALA Institute, The Berkeley Arts Center, and SOMARTS. Her work has been exhibited internationally including Tokyo Art Museum, Barbicon Art Center in London, Singapore National Museum of Art, and the Mazatlán Museum of Art. In December 2005, "Beacon", a public sculpture for the City of Campbell was installed in the newly renovated Ainsley Park. Other public art installations include, "Three Wings" in Stockton, CA, "Meditation Bench" in Groesbeck Hill Park in San Jose, CA, and "The Essence of Water" in Campbell's Edith Morley Park. In addition to her own public sculpture, she has collaborated on more than 20 Art & Architecture projects in Bay Area schools since 1995. This work was featured in a catalogue and exhibition at the Los Gatos Museum of Art in August 2004. Rogers has done artist residencies at the Helene Wurlitzer Foundation in Taos, New Mexico, Villa Montalvo Center for the Arts, and KALA Institute, Berkeley, CA. In 1998 she was given the San Jose Institute of Art's first Visual Arts Award. Permanent collections include San Jose Museum of Art, the Triton Museum, AMD, and Adobe and many private collections. Her work has been featured in The Best of Printmaking, an International Collection, Artweek, Sunset Magazine and Viejo Mazatlán. Originally from Mississippi, Glen lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for 25 years where she still maintains ties. She now lives in Mazatlán, Mexico. |
